Our Process
How an inspection moves from request to certificate.
Every PHSO assessment follows the same documented path. A certificate is never issued on the strength of a request, a payment or a single visit — only after the required assessment and verification steps have been completed and an authorised officer has approved the result.
-
1
Registration & inspection request
The institution registers and submits an inspection request describing its premises, activities and preferred dates.
-
2
Initial assessment & site inspection
A PHSO inspector agrees the scope and checklist, then inspects the premises, records and practices on site.
-
3
Hazards & deficiencies identified
Each hazard or deficiency is recorded with its location, evidence and a risk rating based on likelihood and severity.
-
4
Inspection report prepared
Findings are compiled into a clear written report, with photographs where appropriate, shared securely with the institution.
-
5
Recommendations & corrective-action plan
Corrective and preventive actions are agreed with responsible persons and target dates, prioritised by risk.
-
6
Training & technical guidance
Where needed, PHSO trains staff and provides guidance so that improvements are understood and sustained.
-
7
Follow-up inspection & verification
Inspectors return to verify that each action is complete and effective. Unresolved items remain open.
-
8
Final assessment & certificate
An authorised officer reviews the evidence. A certificate is issued only if the applicable requirements are satisfied.
Certification follows evidence — never the other way round
An inspector cannot approve their own inspection. Final approval and certificate issue are restricted to authorised officers, and every approval and certificate status change is recorded in an audit trail.

Submit an inspection request and we will guide you through the rest.
